Celtic Origins, the Western and the Eastern Celts
SIR JOHN RHŶS MEMORIAL LECTURE
This lecture presents the text of the speech about Celtic origins and the western and eastern Celts delivered by the author at the 2007 Sir John Rhys Memorial Lecture held at the British Academy. It suggests that the Celticity of the people of southern Britain cannot be denied solely on the basis of the non-attestation of the term Celtic, and also comments on the belief that Celtic is a fictitious term.
